When you look at industrial sealants you will be amazed at the wide variety of them that are available and the ways in which they are used. The majority of sealants however are designed to prevent leakage or to prevent contaminants passing through. But there are a few that are purely designed to cover up holes, gaps or seams in objects.
The majority of industrial sealants used today come in either paste, powder or liquid form. But a number of companies who create sealants have developed aerosol varieties as well.
The most commonly used types of industrial sealants today are those which come in liquid or powder form. The reason for this being is that they can be applied easily and quickly as they have a low to moderate viscosity. Also they create very little mess as a spray gun or aerosol can be used to apply them.
Paste types of industrial sealants are applied to the surface in question using either a gun or trowel. As they are applied more force need to be exerted upon them to make sure that they adhere to the surface properly. But they generally take a lot less time to set and also you will find that they are much more flexible and workable.
This kind of industrial sealant is also something that is regularly used around the home as well. We know them better as mastic, grout and caulk and will be used in a number of different areas of the home. Mainly such sealant will be found in bathrooms and kitchens where they prevent water penetration.
Along with the sealants we have already mentioned there are others being constantly developed today. Other sealants that are commonly used are the filling compounds, gels and putties created to fill in and repair holes or cracks. These not only have strong adhesive but also structural integrity properties and are very pliable. So they have the ability to be shaped into any sort of form the user wants.
There have now been industrial sealants developed which are able to bond with electrical components. They have the ability to actually withstand high temperatures of up to 350 degrees Celsius and which is they are used to help seal and protect heating and ventilation equipment.
We have looked at several of the different kinds of industrial sealants that are being used in a wide variety of applications today. But as we speak there is even more time, money and effort being put into developing further ones that can soon replace the ones we already have. The news come from http://www.bossgoo.com/
